Tom Farrell Institute for the Environment

The Tom Farrell Institute believes in regional solutions for a sustainable future. We assist the University of Newcastle deliver those solutions in the Hunter and Central Coast Region, through its teaching, research and community engagement.

Our focus is on developing partnerships with and building support from governments, community groups, and business and industry interests. Our Advisory Board combines unique experience with expertise in environmental issues and management. Our broad agenda requires a multidisciplinary approach. We aim to integrate the tools of science and technology with cultural, social and economic values, and regional expertise.

We support research into ecosystems and sustainable regions, and provide knowledge and skills for a sustainable future.
