Creating a viable forest – the Mt Owen experience (and HEI AGM)

June 18, 2008 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

  • « HEI Environmental Scholarship Awards
  • Transport infrastructure development in the lower Hunter »

Firstly, it is time for all members to consider a commitment to HEI’s operations. It is not onerous, and is highly rewarding. Nomination preferable prior to the meeting.

The seminar by Mike Cole, Director, Centre for Sustainable Ecosystem Restoration, will look at the creation and monitoring undertaken for this unusual event, the ‘moving’ of the Mt Owen State Forest. The development approval for this relocation was undertaken to allow continuation of coal mining, and had substantial agreed conditions, including offsets for destroyed habitat.
