environmental/social aspects of project implementation in developing countries

Keren Halliday is an environmental planner based in the Hunter. Prior to becoming a consultant in 1995 she was employed by Sydney Water for ten years. Keren is currently working for a consortium of oil companies who are constructing an LNG plant in northern Angola.

Keren will speak about the challenges of addressing committments made during environmental approval processes, balancing community and government expectations, and the management of impacts during the construction of major projects in developing countries. She will draw on her experiences from China, the Republic of Georgia and Angola.
