Solar Energy Future and Community Initiatives, and HEI AGM
May 23, 2013 @ 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm
HEI presents three speakers with diverse stories about what is happening in the solar energy space now, and likely outcomes in the near future.
Mark Twidell is a Non-executive Director at the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA), and previously the Executive Director of the Australian Solar Institute. Mark will talk about current developments in the solar industry
from the peak body perspective, looking at R&D and the relative cost of solar.
Then a presentation about Hamilton TAFE’s new solar desicant cooling system, a project involving the CSIRO and the NSW Dept of Public Works.
This will be followed by the launch of CLEANaS, the Clean Energy Association of Newcastle and Surrounds, who are seeking to promote clean energy investment in the community.
The HEI AGM will also be held, where opportunities are available to learn new skills and guide our engagement with environmental professionals by joining the committee. Commitment can be a small as a bi-monthly coffee meeting and assisting in seminars.
Afterwards, food and drinks will be provided at the Honeysuckle Hotel, so stay and catch up. This will also be a greendrinks event.
