Waste management forum

ABS data shows us that between 1996-97 and 2006-07, the volume of waste produced per person in Australia grew at an average annual rate of 5.4%. In 1996-97, Australians generated approximately 1,200kg of waste per person. By 2006-07, this had increased to 2,100kg per person. What will the next census tell us?
Join HEI for a forum to discuss waste management policy, strategies and technologies. With guest speakers:
- Andrew Ward-Harvey (Senior Policy Officer, NSW EPA) – who will discuss current state government waste policies and programs
- Michael Neville (Regional Waste Coordinator, Hunter Councils) – who will discuss waste strategies for the Hunter Region
- Samantha Cross (Connections Consulting and Chair of the Waste Management Association of Australia Hunter Group) – who will discuss the EPA’s circulate program, that assists businesses divert materials from landfill
A facilitated discussion will be held following a brief presentation from each speaker. Refreshments will be provided prior to the forum.
