The 2025 Careers in the Environment event brought together students, professionals, and industry leaders for an evening of career insights and networking. Students engaged actively with the panel, asking thoughtful questions and exploring pathways into the environmental sector.

  Shared his expertise in hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, water quality monitoring, and spatial analysis to support sustainable water management.

• Eliza Hoyland – Environmental Education Officer, City of Newcastle
  Highlighted her work designing programs that connect communities with sustainability and biodiversity initiatives.

• Dr Ally Suzie – Coast and Estuary Officer, NSW DCCEEW
  Discussed her research on estuarine systems and her current role helping councils deliver long-term coastal management plans using innovative tools like drones.

• Thomas Haffner – Senior Environment Business Partner, ARTC
  Reflected on leading environmental assessments for national rail projects, balancing infrastructure development with environmental protections.
