Interested In Joining Our Committee?
We occasionally have open positions within our committee due to ever-shifting nature of human responsibilities and commitments. Open positions will be advertised here, so if any of these roles interest you, please fill in the form below and send it to us!

Currently vacant positions (September 2024) - applications open now:
- Deputy Chairperson
- Secretary
- Treasurer
HEI encourages a wide range of people to apply for the committee. Committee members are expected to attend monthly meetings of ~1 hour, support and/or attend events (seminars, workshops, etc), and take on tasks for the committee throughout the year. We are looking for committed individuals interested in the environment and promoting the ethos of HEI, involving professionals from both public and private organisations, students and interested members of the public. We have a preference for committee members to have attended past events, been a financial member, and are enthusiastic about the environment and serving the broader Hunter and North Coast community.

Vacant positions are normally filled at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) , where all positions are dissolved and nominations accepted for the coming year. However, they can also be filled at times throughout the year as required.

To nominate for a position, you must complete the following form and submit it to the Public Officer 1 week prior to the AGM (or a monthly meeting).

The nominations will be vetted by the Chair and Public Officer, and brought to either the AGM or regular monthly committee meeting for voting. As part of the vetting process, the nominated referee and the HEI member endorsing the nomination may be contacted for verification purposes.
