On Endangered Species Day, HEI’s first hybrid event allowed attendees to join either in person at NuSpace or online to hear from internationally renowned conservation experts.
The event featured Dr. Kaya Klop-Toker from the University of Newcastle’s Frog Research Group discussing the ecology and conservation of Green and Golden Bell Frogs. Dr. Kira Mileham from the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Species Survival Commission presented on global efforts to reverse species loss, highlighting collaborative tools, partnerships, and strategies employed by over 10,000 species conservation experts worldwide.
Together, the speakers inspired attendees to understand the urgent threats to over 37,400 species listed as threatened globally, while offering hope through strategic action and collaboration.
