Explore the depths of the Black Sea and uncover a prehistoric underwater landscape rich with ancient shipwrecks. This fascinating presentation shared discoveries from the Black Sea Maritime Archaeology Project (Black Sea MAP), the largest maritime archaeology expedition in history. Attendees were taken on a journey as 65 remarkably preserved sailing ships emerged from the anoxic depths, revealing stories of early human maritime activity and connectivity.
The event provided unique insights into underwater archaeology, shipbuilding traditions, and the cultural significance of maritime trade routes in the region.
